Whale watching during the winter months in Maui is a must do adventure. Humpback whales make the journey from the cold waters of Alaska to Maui’s warm waters to breed and give birth. We whale watch in protected waters of The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary for the best viewing and the highest concentration of whales.
We have 3 vessels to choose from:

Maalaea harbor is conveniently located 15 – 20 min. north of the Kihei / Wailea / Makena resort areas, and 20 – 30 min. south of the Lahaina / Kaanapali resort areas. One of the best places in the world for whale watching, Maalaea Maui is home to one of the highest concentrations of north pacific humpback whales in the world.
The calm waters off of Kihei, Wailea, and Lahaina are a favorite of whales and whale watchers alike. Although the whale watching on Maui is seasonal, you can almost be guaranteed to see several whales during the peak of our whale watching season from Dec. 15 till May 15th.
Several other whale watching tours operate out of the Kihei, Maalaea, and Lahaina areas during whale watching season but most of them take between 50 and 140 people. If you are interested in a more intimate whale watching experience, then we just might have the boat for you.
